As part of first year BFA at the Ruskin School of Art, human anatomy is taught which is supported by the Ruskin's relationship with the University's Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics.
I have made drawings from life studying in the Medical Sciences lab observing cadavers and varied wet specimens. This insight allowed me to think about structures of the body (form and function), mortality, biology and identity. A highlight for me on this part of the course was the Anatomy Show where all our knowledge was applied creatively, I took inspiration from the engineering of the human form to make a wooden sculpture which represented how one may feel living inside of a body.Â
